Cistus Incanus specifically is traditionally used for bronchitis or other causes of coughs, flu and other respiratory tract infections, remarkable wound healing abilities, it breaks down biofilm, teeth whitening, antiaging skin, memory, it relaxes the mind, etc. According to a recent study, Cistus incanus has the remarkable potential to lower some inflammatory markers that contribute to a lot of health issues and potential cardiovascular health.

Cistus incanus contains a lot of polyphenolic compounds, bioflavonoids, gallic acid, rutin and five major catechins. Some of these compounds proved to have antiviral and antimicrobial activities and they’ve been shown to be strong antioxidants that bring a lot of potential benefits. Among the antiviral activity, there are several reports that presented the activity of these polyphenols against influenza virus.
